Transalp dude

Street Level

I gave up London Transport in favour of biking to work back in 1988. Since then I've had a succession of bikes, mostly big trailies like this Transalp.

XJ900
XT600ZE Tenere

XL600V Transalp

XTZ660 Tenere
Bandit 600
VFR800FI
XT600
DR650
XRV750 Africa Twin
TT600R

The Transalp was probably the best all-round motorcycle I've ever had, and I really miss it. The most charismatic was probably my XT600 DR not-so-bigTenere. Since writing these pages I've been through a Suzuki Bandit 600 (OK), a VFR800 (brilliant), a Suzuki DR650 (horrible), yet ANOTHER XT600 (naily!), a TT600R (grotesquely awful) and (still current) an Africa Twin. Here's me standing next to someone else's DR (a 600) in the Sinai Desert:
