Red Pike from High Stile

Bleaberry Tarn is in the foreground, Crummock Water in the middle distance. The merest sliver of Buttermere is visible below the tarn.

The Lake District

Some shots taken on a trip to the Lake District in August 2003. These are from two separate hikes, one up Causey Pike & Sail, the other over High Stile.

All these shots were taken with an Olympus E-20. The panoramic ones were created from multiple shots in Photoshop.

In this sequence the camera is looking in more or less the same direction (North) as I progressed up Rowling End, Causey Pike and beyond towards Sail...

The Newlands Valley from Rowling End

On the summit of
Causey Pike

I forgot to cover the viewfinder, so this was a bit of a washout. Rescued in mono by ditching the blue channel...

Scar Crags

On the summit of Sail

I came up the heather-covered ridge at the left hand side.

And a panoramic shot from the same position. Keswick is visible at the upper left.
