Blencathra from the A66

I'd been reading up on Sharp Edge, my objective for Day 1, and as I drove towards Keswick I suddenly realised I was looking at it!

Castlerigg Stone Circle

Not very original, but the light was nice.

Buttermere

Losing the light on top of Fleetwith Pike.

The Lake District
Feb/March 2004

A selection of shots from a trip to the Lake District at the end of February 2004. These were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 3100.

Sharp Edge and Scales Tarn

The view from Blencathra, in perfect conditions. Scales Tarn is below, while Sharp Edge is to the left. The snow-covered ridge to the right is Scales Fell.

Derwent Water Backdrop

The view from my hotel window! Cat Bells is the pointy one left of centre, while Rowling End (below Causey Pike) is the big step at the right hand side of the picture. Not sure what the middle one is.
